Düzce's digital trade potential
Düzce sits on the İstanbul-Ankara axis and is one of the strongest automotive supplier centres in the country. A significant share of the companies in the province produce automotive components, and those parts go largely to the European automotive market through firms that belong to the main industry supplier associations. This gives the city a high-standard, export-oriented industrial identity.
What sets Düzce apart from other automotive centres is its role: the city does not build whole vehicles, it makes the parts and components that go into them. That means a classic tier-supplier economy, in which quality certification, engineering competence and international standards are decisive.
One of the city's lesser-known strengths is the defence industry: Düzce is one of the few provinces in Türkiye producing weapons and munitions, and it is home to several companies in the field. This is a distinct B2B area that demands high trust and corporate credibility.
Industry is varied: textiles, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, and chemicals are also strong branches within the organised industrial zones (OSB). Düzce's second OSB is among the first zones in Türkiye to hold green OSB certification, which is an advantage for a sustainability narrative.
The agricultural and forestry base is solid: hazelnut growing in the Black Sea climate and forest products are traditional branches of the provincial economy. Konuralp rice carries a geographical indication, while the ancient city of Konuralp holds potential for cultural tourism.
Düzce's opportunity is to make its high-standard industry visible to international buyers online: taking automotive components to European OEMs through an English-language B2B setup, the defence industry to the right counterparts with corporate credibility, and hazelnuts and forest products into brands. Production quality is high; what is missing is digital visibility.
