Kırklareli's digital trade potential
Kırklareli is a province that carries both the industrial and the agricultural strength of Thrace. The heart of its industry is the glass sector around Lüleburgaz; the region is one of the important centres of glass production in Türkiye, and a broad supplier and logistics ecosystem has grown up around that large industry.
What separates Kırklareli from its neighbouring Thracian provinces is this industrial weight: while Edirne and Tekirdağ are known more for agriculture and for other industrial branches, glass and the production tied to it give Kırklareli a distinct identity. Structures such as the specialised plastics zone reinforce that industrial fabric.
Agriculture is strong and strategic: sunflower growing stands out on Thrace's fertile soil, and Kırklareli meets a considerable share of Türkiye's sunflower needs. Wheat and other grains are also core products of the regional economy.
On the food and drink side the city is rich in geographical indications: Kırklareli white cheese, matured for months, and hardaliye, the non-alcoholic grape and mustard drink, are its registered signature flavours. Viticulture and wine are also part of Thracian culture, and these products lend themselves very well to branding.
Nature tourism is a growing asset: the İğneada flooded (longoz) forests are among the rare ecosystems of Türkiye and a strong draw for nature tourism. That is a separate digital opportunity for hotels and tourism businesses.
Kırklareli's opportunity is to grow industry, agriculture and gastronomy together online: taking the glass supplier industry to large manufacturers and export markets with a B2B setup, white cheese, hardaliye and wine into brands, and İğneada into tourism digital. Production and value are strong; what is missing is digital visibility and brand.
