Konya's digital trade potential
Konya is known as 'the manufacturing base of Anatolia' and holds one of the largest organised industrial zone (OSB) and industrial estate footprints in Türkiye. Machinery manufacturing, automotive supply, metal casting, food and flour-milling machinery form the production backbone of the city.
Agricultural machinery is Konya's flagship sector: a very large share of tractor and agricultural machinery parts is produced here, and Konya holds a significant part of the Turkish market in this field. On the milling machinery side there are companies that build turnkey flour, semolina and pasta plants — a high-value product group that suits direct export.
It is one of Türkiye's strongest centres for metal casting and machinery manufacturing, and a leading province nationally in food and grain (wheat and flour). Defence and aerospace, software and renewable energy are the fast-developing newer sectors.
Konya exports to more than 190 countries and ranks among Türkiye's top twelve exporting provinces. Even so, a significant share of companies has a weak digital B2B presence: multilingual catalogue sites, marketplace operations and visibility in 'manufacturer/supplier' searches are usually missing. That gap is a direct growth opportunity for Konya manufacturers.
Konya also has a fast-growing defence, aerospace and software ecosystem; the province's technology park and university-industry collaboration add a technology-based, high value-added arm alongside classic manufacturing. For these companies, a well-built, English-first digital presence plays a decisive role in finding international partners, qualified buyers and investors. This combination of traditional industry and technology is turning Konya from a one-dimensional manufacturing city into a broad-based export centre.
