Schema.org is a shared vocabulary developed by Google, Microsoft, Yahoo and Yandex. It is written in JSON-LD format inside <script type="application/ld+json">. Common types: Organization, LocalBusiness, Product, Article, FAQPage, BreadcrumbList, Service, Review, Recipe, Event. Pages with schema markup appear in Google with rich snippets such as star ratings, prices and FAQ accordions. Structured data is also parse-friendly for AI engines.

Examples

  • If FAQPage schema is added, an accordion appears in Google's search results.
  • With Product schema, the price, stock status and average star rating appear in the search result.
