Detailed definition
One of the common payment models on Google Ads and Meta Ads; the formula is cost ÷ clicks. A high CPC can point to a competitive market or weak ad quality. In competitive fields such as healthcare (hair transplants in particular), click costs are markedly higher. CPC varies widely by sector, country, season and bidding strategy; Google Ads Keyword Planner shows current figures for your market. To bring it down: improve the quality score, add negative keywords and narrow the targeting.
Examples
- The cost per click for the same keyword can differ greatly between Türkiye and the United Kingdom; the budget plan uses current data for the target country.
- As the quality score rises, the cost per click for the same position usually falls.
