Custom Software Development for IoT and Embedded Systems

We design the whole chain from sensor to cloud: device firmware, MQTT-based telemetry, edge processing and a remote monitoring panel. Your machines, production line and field equipment come together in a single data stream — and all of the source code stays with you.

IoT and embedded systems are the layer that connects physical equipment to software. The sensors measuring a machine's temperature, a motor's vibration, a tank's level or a line's downtime; the embedded devices collecting that data; the communication protocols carrying it securely; and finally the panels and reports where decisions are made — all of it is one whole. When any link in that chain is missing or mismatched, what you have is not real-time visibility but a scattered pile of data.

Off-the-shelf solutions are usually tied to a single device brand, a fixed protocol or a cloud lock-in. The reality in the field, however, is usually messy: machines of different ages, PLCs from different manufacturers, wired connections in some places and cellular in others. Custom development makes sense precisely because it brings this heterogeneous environment into a single architecture. We choose devices, protocols and cloud based on your circumstances, and avoid unnecessary licence and subscription lock-ins.

At Pan Innovation House we run IoT projects API-first and iteratively. We first build a measurable pilot with a small set of devices, validate the data flow and the decision value, then scale. The source code of the firmware, edge services and monitoring panel we develop is one hundred per cent yours; it is delivered through a four-eyes review (Pan Standard), and after go-live we stand behind it with maintenance and an SLA.

Who is it for?

Who is IoT & Embedded Systems a good fit for?

Manufacturing and factory facilities

Plants in carpet, machinery, textiles and food that want to monitor machine status, temperature, pressure, vibration and downtime in real time. For those who want old and new machines on a single panel, and planned maintenance driven by data.

Field and logistics operations

Businesses that want to monitor warehouses, cold chains, water tanks, generators or remote field equipment without being on site, and receive alerts when thresholds are crossed. For collecting telemetry from remote locations over cellular connections.

Machinery and equipment manufacturers

Manufacturers who want to add a remote monitoring, usage telemetry and service-call layer to the devices they sell. To see how their product performs in the field and offer customers a value-added monitoring service.

Exporters and multi-site companies

Growing SMEs and exporters — or those planning new investment — that want production and warehouse data from different locations gathered centrally into a single view.

What we build

What we deliver within IoT & Embedded Systems

Device and firmware development

Microcontroller-based embedded software; we write the sensor-reading, local buffering, secure connectivity and over-the-air (OTA) firmware update logic to suit your device class.

MQTT-based telemetry infrastructure

For a resilient device-to-cloud data flow: MQTT broker architecture, topic design, QoS levels and retransmission logic that prevents data loss when the connection drops.

Edge processing and local intelligence

Filtering, threshold checks and pre-processing in the field before data is sent to the cloud. This cuts bandwidth and ensures critical alerts fire locally even without connectivity.

Remote monitoring and control panel

Live dashboards, device status, alarm management and permission-gated remote commands. A web-based, role-based, mobile-friendly interface.

PLC/SCADA and machine integration

Reading data from existing PLCs, SCADA and industrial equipment; bringing the machines on your production line into a common data model and running alongside your existing automation.

Alarm, threshold and notification rules

A flexible rules engine: email, SMS or panel alerts when a temperature, level, downtime or fault threshold is crossed, with mute and escalation logic to prevent repeat triggering.

Data storage and reporting readiness

Proper storage of time-series data, historical analysis, and API endpoints ready to feed your existing BI/reporting layer.

Process

How we move from discovery to go-live

  1. 01

    Field discovery and feasibility

Together we establish which machines and equipment will be monitored, the state of existing sensors and PLCs, connectivity conditions (wired/cellular) and the decision value. Scope and architecture decisions are made at this step.

  2. 02

    Pilot device and data-flow setup

We build an end-to-end pipeline with a limited number of devices: sensor reading, transport over MQTT, edge processing and display on the panel. Data flow and accuracy are proven in the real environment.

  3. 03

    Panel, rules and integration development

We iteratively develop the monitoring panel, alarm rules and, where needed, SCADA/ERP integration. Every release goes through a four-eyes review (Pan Standard).

  4. 04

    Scaling and go-live

Once the pilot is validated, we grow the device count and site coverage in stages, bed in the OTA update and monitoring processes, and train your team as part of the handover.

  5. 05

    Maintenance, monitoring and SLA

After go-live we monitor system health, keep firmware and panel updates flowing, and provide support within a defined SLA. All of the source code is yours.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about IoT & Embedded Systems

What will an IoT project cost and how long will it take?

Cost and timeline depend on the number of devices to monitor, sensor variety, connection type and integration scope. After the field discovery we share a firm scope and proposal. We do not quote unrealistic figures upfront; starting with a small pilot usually reduces both the risk and the initial cost.

Will the source code belong to us?

Yes. All source code for the firmware, edge services and monitoring panel is one hundred per cent yours and is handed over. You are not locked into a particular cloud or supplier; you can continue the system at any time with your own team or another one.

Will it work with our existing machines and PLCs?

Usually, yes. We design the system to bring machines of different brands and ages, along with existing PLC and SCADA systems, into a common data model. During discovery we examine what data your equipment can provide, and add sensors where genuinely needed.

Is data lost when the internet or the connection drops?

No. We build local buffering and retransmission logic into the device; when the connection drops, data is held in the field and sent once the connection returns. Critical threshold alerts can fire at the edge, locally, even without the cloud.

Do you keep the data on our own server or in the cloud?

Both are possible. We can run in a cloud such as AWS, on your own server, or in a hybrid setup. The choice is made together during discovery, based on data ownership, regulation and your expectations for scale.

Do you provide maintenance after go-live?

Yes. Within a defined SLA we provide system monitoring, firmware and panel updates, bug fixes and support for adding new devices. If you wish, we train your team to run the system fully on its own.

Predictive Maintenance

We collect a machine's vibration, temperature, current and cycle data, learn its normal operating signature, and catch deviations from that signature before failure occurs. An alert becomes a maintenance work order; the machine's history and the parts used accumulate in the same record.

Computer Vision Quality Control

We build camera-based visual inspection on the production line: surface defects, colour and shade variation, missing parts, label verification and dimensional checks. The work does not begin as a software installation — it begins with feasibility and sample testing.

Demand Forecasting and Production Planning Intelligence

We generate demand forecasts from order history, seasonality and stock data, and link that forecast to your production and purchasing plans. We sequence work under capacity constraints, calculate safety stock and measure how accurate the forecast actually was.
